What are ways to cover up blushing that actually work?

First you need to rule out a skin disease call rosacea. It's not serious, but it can cause skin redness and flushing. See your regular doctor, who can refer you to a dermatologist. They can give you a cream or ointment to help the redness.

If you just have a naturally red face, DON'T use a concealar over such a large area. That'll just look cakey. Instead, use a full-coverage foundation. I have red cheeks (without rosacea), and I like Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, which tones down the pink a bit, but still leaves you with a nice flush. If it's serious, and it really bugs you, try a stage makeup foundation, which are usually waterproof, and last a really long time. Try the brands Ben Nye, Mehron, or Graftobian. They're expensive, but I think something that boosts self-esteem is priceless. If you use a regular foundation, dust a translucent, or white powder over it, if you aren't Latin or African American. A white powder can make those ethnicities (spelling bad there!) look ashy. My favorite matte powder is Maybelline Dream Matte Powder, because it blends really well and soaks up a ton of oil. For white powder, try Bloody Mary Goth Setting Powder from Hot Topic. It's available online, and you can get it pressed-power, or loose form.

Good luck!
